Understand
Make sense of what’s going on and what matters to you.
Thoughtful physiotherapy care to help you understand your body, build strength and keep moving forward.

Every body and every story is different. Movement Medicine brings your symptoms, goals and day-to-day life into the conversation, then helps you take the next steps at your pace.
Make sense of what’s going on and what matters to you.
Work towards strength, movement and confidence with a clear plan.
Keep progressing with practical guidance that fits real life.
A short self-check can help you put what you notice into words, spot patterns worth mentioning, and prepare for a conversation with a physiotherapist.
Start the gait self-checkPhysiotherapy starts with a conversation. Open each step to see how the process works.
Use the self-referral form to tell the practice what you’d like help with and how it affects everyday life. A referral link from your clinician works too.
Start a self-referralYour physiotherapist will discuss your symptoms, relevant health background, daily activities and what you hope to get back to. You can ask questions and help decide what to focus on.
You’ll discuss suitable next steps together. Depending on your needs, this may include advice, treatment, exercises and a follow-up plan.
Self-referral is for non-emergency physiotherapy support. If you need urgent help, call 999 or go to A&E.
If travel, distance or mobility makes attending in person difficult, a telephone programme can bring a physiotherapist’s assessment, exercise plan and follow-up support to you at home.
Attend from home when getting to an appointment is a barrier.
Work on exercises in the place where you’ll use them day to day.
Regular check-ins give you and your physiotherapist a chance to review progress and adapt your programme.
After each appointment or call, your physiotherapist prepares a clear written summary for you to review and keep, so your plan and progress stay easy to follow.
Your goals, symptoms and progress since the last session.
A record of treatment, exercises prescribed and agreed guidance.
Your next steps and follow-up plan, collected in one place.

If your clinician has sent you a Movement Medicine self-referral link, open it to share your details and tell us what you’d like help with. Your clinician will review your information and follow up with you.
